Specifications
We build three tillers, one for each class of machine. They are not interchangeable, so match the tiller to what you are running.
Quick Tiller, for full-size skid steers and compact track loaders. The one on this page. 66 inch and 78 inch widths, tills to 6 inches, bi-directional, 16 to 42 GPM, universal quick-attach mount.
Quick Tiller Mini, for mini skid steers and compact utility loaders. Tills to 4 inches, sized and weighted for smaller machines with lower hydraulic flow. If you run a Ditch Witch, Toro, Vermeer or similar mini loader, this is your tiller.
Quick Till 3-Point, for compact and utility tractors. Mounts to a Category 1 or Category 2 three-point hitch and runs off the PTO rather than hydraulics. If your machine is a tractor rather than a loader, this is the one.
The Quick Tiller uses a universal quick-attach mount, so it fits most full-size skid steers and compact track loaders - Bobcat, CAT, John Deere, Case, Kubota, New Holland and more. A hydraulic motor spins a rotor of hardened steel tines that cut into compacted soil and leave a loose, even seedbed in one pass. Bi-directional rotation lets you till forward and reverse, covering your track marks instead of leaving a second pass. Tills up to 6 inches deep, available in 66 inch and 78 inch widths.
Both models till to the same 6 inch depth with the same dual direct-drive motors — the difference is width. Choose the 66 inch for tighter spaces like orchard rows and garden beds. Choose the 78 inch for open ground like food plots and large field prep. Match the width to your machine's track or tyre width.
A rotary tiller digs in — breaking new ground, chopping roots, and mixing material into the soil. A soil conditioner (often called a Harley Rake) finishes the top few inches, leveling and grading. Food plots, garden and market beds, seedbed preparation, lawn renovation, chemical-free weed control, and nursery or site prep all rely on this one attachment. The 66 inch width also works between tight orchard and vineyard rows.
The Quick Tiller runs on 16 to 42 GPM, so the same unit works on standard flow and high flow machines. Standard flow (16–24 GPM) tills to full depth at a slightly slower pace. The deciding factor is hydraulic flow rather than machine size. The Quick Tiller requires between 16 and 42 GPM of auxiliary hydraulic flow, which covers most standard flow and high flow full-size skid steers and compact track loaders. Check your machine's operator manual under hydraulic specifications for its auxiliary flow rating. You also need a universal quick-attach mounting plate, which is standard on nearly all full-size loaders. If you run a mini skid steer or a compact utility loader, the Quick Tiller Mini is the correct model for your machine.
Up to 6 inches. Adjustable depth shoes let you set a shallower working depth when you want it, which is useful on ground that has already been broken or when you are working close to established roots. Six inches covers essentially every vegetable and food plot crop and is deep enough to work compost or fertiliser into the root zone rather than leaving it on the surface.
A rotary tiller digs in. Its tines cut down to 6 inches to break new ground, chop roots, turn old growth under and mix material into the soil. A soil conditioner works the top couple of inches with a carbide-toothed drum, pulling rocks and debris up and leaving a fine, level finish. Contractors often call a soil conditioner a Harley Rake, though that is a brand name rather than the equipment category. Use a tiller to break and mix, a conditioner to level and finish. Plenty of operators own both and run them in sequence on the same job.
It means the rotor turns forwards or backwards on command, so you can till on the way out and till on the way back. Most skid steer tillers only turn one way, which leaves you driving back across the ground you just worked and having to make a second pass to erase your track marks. Bi-directional rotation covers your tracks as you reverse, so a job that would take two passes takes one. On a large food plot that is a meaningful difference in fuel and hours.
Yes. The 16 to 42 GPM range is intentionally wide so that one tiller serves both standard flow and high flow machines. On a standard flow loader, typically delivering 16 to 24 GPM, the Quick Tiller tills to full depth but you will travel more slowly through heavy or compacted ground. On a high flow machine at 30 to 42 GPM the dual direct-drive motors hold rotor speed better under load, so you can maintain ground speed. Below 16 GPM the rotor will stall in anything firmer than loose soil.
Match the tiller to your machine and your ground. The 66 inch suits mid-size skid steers, tighter working areas such as orchard rows, garden beds and fence lines, and loaders at the lower end of the flow range. The 78 inch suits larger machines with higher auxiliary flow working open ground: food plots, field preparation and large lawn renovations, where the extra 12 inches cuts your pass count. A good rule is to pick a width equal to or slightly wider than your machine's track or tyre width, so the tines work the ground the machine just drove across.
The tines are double-edge hardened steel and they are replaceable. Double-edge means each tine cuts on both faces, which is what allows the bi-directional rotation to work properly and roughly doubles the usable life compared with a single-edge tine. Replaceable means that when tines eventually wear, you swap them rather than replacing the whole rotor.
Yes. The Quick Tiller is manufactured at the Quick Attach facility in Minnesota, which is also where replacement tines and service parts ship from. That matters more than it sounds: a domestically built attachment means shorter waits when you need a part in the middle of a season, and parts support that does not depend on an overseas container schedule.
Food plots are one of the most common uses for it. A single pass breaks the sod, turns old growth under and leaves a loose seedbed ready for broadcast seeding. The bi-directional rotation is particularly useful here because you are not driving back over tilled ground and recompacting it. For plots with heavy existing cover, most operators mow or cut first, then till.
