Quick Claw | Skid Steer Grapple & Root Grapple

Your go-to skid steer root grapple for the tough jobs.

The Quick Claw combines the capabilities of a skid steer root grapple and grapple rake, giving operators a versatile tool for clearing, sorting, grabbing, and moving tough material. Spaced Grade 100 steel teeth grab roots, brush, rocks, logs, and debris while allowing dirt and smaller material to fall through. For picking rock rather than pulling roots, see the Rock Haul.

Quality Grade 100 steel used throughout helps the Quick Claw stand up to demanding work, while a 48-inch opening and powerful jaws provide the capacity and holding force needed to securely grab, clamp, and move larger material. For sifting soil away from stone rather than raking roots, the skeleton rock bucket with grapple is the right tool.

Root grapple and grapple rake functionality in one attachment
Grade 100 steel construction built for demanding applications
48-inch opening provides room to grab larger material
Powerful jaws clamp and hold material securely

Built for land clearing, root and rock removal, brush cleanup, logs, concrete, storm debris, and jobsite cleanup, the Quick Claw delivers the strength and control needed to tackle heavy material day after day.

Why Steel Strength Matters

Built With High-Strength Steel
Not Marketing Terms.

Not all steel ratings are presented the same way.

Some manufacturers advertise maximum breaking strength, while others reference minimum yield strength. At Quick Attach, we focus on real-world durability and structural performance — not inflated numbers.

Our steel specifications are based on minimum strength ratings to give operators a clearer understanding of what the attachment is built to handle.

Steel Strength Comparison

Grade Tensile Yield Hardness
Grade 100 110,000–130,000 PSI 100,000 PSI 235–293 BHN
Grade 50 65,000 PSI 50,000 PSI 135 BHN
A36 Mild 58,000–80,000 PSI 36,000 PSI 119–159 BHN

TENSILE STRENGTH

YIELD STRENGTH
The point where the steel bends

BHN HARDNESS
Higher numbers are more wear resistant

PSI
Higher PSI means the steel is stronger

Customer photo review of The Quick Claw - Grapple Rake/Root Grapple

it works perfectly for quickly cutting up firewood ... the only improvement would be some sort of "pressure release" for the hose if the implement is taken off on a cold day it is nearly impossible to connect the hose on a hot day (do to expansion)

We find our grapple to be an indispensable Addition to our tractor. We have done a lot of brush, clearing, stacking and burning using it, as well as moving logs and even cut rounds. We recommend this grapple to all our friends.

Customer photo review of The Quick Claw - Grapple Rake/Root Grapple

Used it to clean up logging slash and restore forestry trails. Also, it has been great for pulling boulders up to 5000 lbs out of our hay fields. Even though the tractor hydraulics could only lift 4000 lbs we were able to roll the boulders up out of the field and then, supporting them with what the grapple could lift, skid them to the side of the field. No damage or wear to the tines of the grapple throughout this process. We only managed to wear off a small bit of the black finish!

The Quick Claw - Grapple Rake/Root Grapple

Store owner replied: Thank you for your review, we are glad to hear the Quick Claw is helping you clean up your fields and restore your forestry trails. The Quick Claw can take a beating!

Customer photo review of The Quick Claw - Grapple Rake/Root Grapple

Rugged attachment and extremely useful for collecting slash and logs both. Excellent for cleaning up the ground by back dragging after clearing timber. The only downside I can think of is that the occasional hydraulic hose can get snagged by my ASV machine and requires replacing and can be difficult to secure from Quick Attach parts department. They make the best original hoses for the attachment so I prefer to use the OEM.

The Quick Claw - Grapple Rake/Root Grapple

Store owner replied: Thank you for your review, the Quick Claw is built tough! We are glad you are enjoying your attachment!

I use it mostly on Bobcat Toolcat 5610 but occasional on Takeuchi Tl12 V2 trackloader. Works great for: 1. Moving large maple trees logs around to be cut up into firewood. Plenty strong never had it bend. 2. racking up and moving piles of branches 3. moving large rocks and grading 4. moved large oak tree along road that had been cut into short pieces. Worked, but a split top claw would have been a lot more efficient, but so would have just leaving it in 6 or 8 f lengths

The Quick Claw - Grapple Rake/Root Grapple

The best attachment I have ever purchased. It’s is truly a beast!!! Well worth the money!!!!

I have cleared a lot of brush with the Quick Claw grapple and it has worked great !

The Quick Claw - Grapple Rake/Root Grapple

Store owner replied: Thank you for your review, we are glad your Quick Claw has helped you clear all that brush!

I wish the bottom teeth were a few inches longer and flatter and the top a made so there wasn’t such an overbite. It’s great to be able to roll the bucket over to drag brush out but the bucket doesn’t have much capacity

The Quick Claw - Grapple Rake/Root Grapple

Very valuable attachment, well constructed and durable.

The first time I used it it sprayed hydraulic oil out of the fittings. I had to tighten all the fittings they were all loose. It’s a beast it will do anything I want to with it so far. Thank you Troy Huffman

The Quick Claw - Grapple Rake/Root Grapple

Store owner replied: Thank you for your review, we apologize about the fittings but we are glad you got them tightened and you are enjoying your Quick Claw!

Works fine, well built. I did have a plate welded in to protect lines on the hydraulic quick connect. Was worried about something poking through the tines and damaging the lines or cylinders. If you have a manuel connection wouldn't be concerned.

The Quick Claw - Grapple Rake/Root Grapple

This is a great grapple I have a 60 hp tractor and it will never break it

Quick Claw Grapple Rake FAQ

What is the difference between a root grapple and a root rake?

In practice they are the same tool, and the Quick Claw is both. A root grapple has spaced teeth and closing jaws that grab roots, brush, logs, and rocks. Used with the jaws open, it rakes the ground surface, which is why buyers also call it a root rake or grapple rake. The Quick Claw's curved teeth glide over the ground so it rakes and cleans without tearing up the surface, and then clamps down to carry what it collects.

How is a root grapple different from a grapple bucket?

A root grapple has spaced teeth, so dirt and small debris fall through while you hold on to roots, brush, and rocks. A grapple bucket has a solid bottom, so it holds everything including the soil. If you are clearing land and picking rocks and roots, you want the tined root grapple. If you need to scoop and carry loose material, you want the grapple bucket, which we sell separately.

What can the Quick Claw handle?

Brush, logs, rocks, concrete, and jobsite debris. The 48-inch opening gives room to grab large material, the jaws close with over 12 tons of cylinder force, and the teeth are 1/2-inch Grade 100 steel, which is roughly three times stronger than standard Grade 36. It handles land clearing, site prep, raking and piling, rock picking, storm cleanup, and demolition.

What sizes does it come in, and will it fit my skid steer?

The Quick Claw is available in 60-inch, 72-inch, and 84-inch widths. It mounts with a universal quick-attach plate and fits most major skid steer brands including Bobcat, John Deere, Case, Kubota, New Holland, and Caterpillar. Send us your machine's make and model and we will confirm the fit before you buy.

Why does Grade 100 steel matter?

Steel grade decides how long an attachment survives real work. Grade 100 has a yield strength of 100,000 PSI, against 50,000 for Grade 50 and 36,000 for common A36 mild steel, so it bends and wears far less under load. We quote minimum yield strength rather than maximum breaking strength, because that is the number that reflects what the attachment actually withstands day to day.
