A skid steer vibratory roller like the Quick Pack is a rotating drum that mounts to your machine and compacts far more ground per pass. If you are compacting driveways, trenches, gravel lots, road patches, or building pads, the roller covers the area faster and gives a more even result. For small patches around fixtures, a plate compactor is the right tool.
Choose a smooth drum for gravel, asphalt, and anywhere you want a clean, finished surface. Choose a padded foot drum, which is also called a sheepsfoot roller, for compacting fill dirt and cohesive soils, because the pads knead the material and compact it in layers rather than just pressing the top.
