Mega Mower X High Flow FAQ

Answers to common questions about the Mega Mower X High Flow brush cutter and brush hog attachment.

Should I choose the standard flow or the high flow Mega Mower X?

It comes down to your skid steer's hydraulic flow and the material you cut. Choose standard flow if your machine has standard-flow hydraulics and you are clearing grass, light brush, and saplings. Choose high flow if your machine is high-flow and you are cutting dense brush, heavy overgrowth, and small trees at a faster, high-production pace. Running a high-flow cutter on a standard-flow machine gives poor performance, so match the cutter to the machine. Not sure which your skid steer has? Send us the make and model and we will confirm.

Can the high flow Mega Mower X cut small trees?

Yes. On a high-flow machine it handles dense brush, heavy saplings, and small trees up to its rated cutting capacity. The serrated side plates trim overhanging branches, and the carbide-tipped teeth help grind stumps as you clear. For grinding whole standing trees into chips, a dedicated forestry mulcher is the better tool.

Does the high flow model need an RPM limiter?

High-flow skid steers can push more hydraulic flow than an attachment is rated for, so matching the flow range matters. The Mega Mower X High Flow is built for high-flow machines within its rated range. Tell us your machine's flow and we will confirm it is a safe match before you buy.

Is a brush cutter the same as a brush hog?

For skid steers, yes. “Brush cutter” and “brush hog” both describe a rotary attachment that cuts grass, brush, and saplings. The high-flow Mega Mower X is a heavy-duty version built for the toughest overgrowth.

What hydraulic flow does the high flow model need?

It is built for skid steers with high-flow hydraulics and mounts with a universal quick-attach plate, so it fits most major brands including Bobcat, Case, John Deere, Kubota, New Holland, and Caterpillar.
