Introduction
The Bore Pig HD is a skid steer auger and post hole digger in one attachment. These powerful earth auger drive units are durable enough to withstand construction, utility, fencing and demanding ground-prep work in tough soil conditions. These planetary drive units produce high torque at low speeds and offer reverse rotation for cleaning out the hole.
Quick Attach skid steer auger bits are built for serious drilling performance, with heavy-duty construction, double flighting for faster dirt removal, and bit options designed for dirt, rock, and tree planting. Whether you call it an auger, a post hole digger or an earth drill, it is the same job: clean, consistent holes from 4 to 48 inches.
From everyday drilling to rocky ground and tree planting, Quick Attach auger bits are built for demanding conditions with heavy-duty construction, aggressive cutting performance, and replaceable wear components.
Ideal for most drilling applications, these double-flighted dirt bits feature a one-piece cast steel boring head that holds teeth at aggressive angles for compacted soil, heavy clay, frozen ground, and cobble mixes.
Built for seriously rocky conditions, the Heavy-Duty Rock Bit uses carbide bullet teeth, thicker flighting, heavier center tubes, and hard-faced leading edges to handle tough drilling demands.
Designed for planting, the Tree Bit creates a tapered hole with a wider top for the root ball and a narrower, roughened bottom to support drainage, root penetration, and healthier tree establishment.
The Bore Pig HD drills holes from 4 to 48 inches, and the right bit depends on three things: hole diameter, ground conditions, and your machine's hydraulic flow. Larger diameters need more torque, so a 12-inch bit asks considerably more of your skid steer than a 6-inch one. Match all three and the auger cuts clean and fast; mismatch them and you will stall in the hole.

Answers to common questions about the Bore Pig HD earth auger and post hole digger attachment.
Yes. A skid steer auger and a post hole digger are the same type of attachment: a hydraulic drive unit that spins an auger bit to bore clean, consistent holes. Some buyers also call it an earth auger or a skid steer drill attachment. The Bore Pig HD does all of it, drilling from 4 to 48 inches for fence posts, footings, tree planting and utility work.
The Bore Pig HD runs on 10 to 25 GPM, which covers most standard-flow and high-flow skid steers and compact track loaders. Check your machine's auxiliary hydraulic flow in its operator manual before you order. Send us your make and model and we will confirm the fit.
A planetary gear drive produces high torque at low speed, which is what you want when the bit meets clay, frost, or rock. It is the reason the Bore Pig HD delivers 3,300 ft/lbs of torque and keeps turning where a lighter drive would stall. It also means fewer moving parts and lower maintenance than a chain drive.
For most work, the Heavy-Duty Dirt Auger Bit handles compacted soil, heavy clay, frozen ground and cobble mixes. For seriously rocky ground, the Heavy-Duty Rock Auger Bit uses carbide bullet teeth and hard-faced flighting. For planting, the Tree Auger Bit cuts a tapered hole with a wider top for the root ball. A stump planer bit is available as an option.
The Bore Pig HD is built for full-size skid steers and compact track loaders. For mini skid steers and compact tool carriers, the Bore Pig Mini is the right unit, drilling up to 36 inches. Tell us your machine and we will point you to the correct one.
